FAIRLAND OFFICE

[  Observatory, Cape Town  ]

In collaboration with Fusion Architecture

2017 – 2018

Extension and alterations of an existing office space.

DETAILS

The original open space needed to be divided to create separate offices and meeting rooms. A mezzanine was added to increase the floor space and utilize the double volume. Care was taken to keep the original industrial look of the office using steel screens as dividers, and leaving the original face brick walls and the steel roof trusses exposed. A seating area with planters was added to the terrace to create an outdoor space protected from the elements by wooden screens and pergolas.
